Judy Altenberg

Judy Altenberg, from Colorado, is the 2015-2017 National Women’s Philanthropy chair of the Jewish Federations of North America.  She also serves as a trustee of JFNA and a member of the Executive Committee. 

Judy is the immediate past chair/campaign chair of the Jewish Women’s Philanthropy Center at JEWISHColorado (formerly known as the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado). She has chaired several fundraising divisions within her local Federation, and is an alumna of National Young Leadership Cabinet, where she held several positions.

She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rose Community Foundation, where she serves as chair of the Jewish Life Committee and is a member of the Education Committee.  Judy is a graduate of the Wexner Heritage program, an intensive two-year program of Jewish leadership and learning.  She has been involved in several political campaigns as well as many educational committees on both the state and local levels, as well as at her children’s schools, and is the immediate past chair of the board of the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation.

Judy loves to ski and bike in her spare time. She is trained as a lawyer, has two children, Jeremy and Gabrielle, and is married to Bruce Plotkin.
