Shelley Rood Wernick is the Director of the Center for Advancing Holocaust Survivor Care at The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). Launched in 2015 with a federal grant from the Administration for Community Living, this program supports innovative models of service delivery to Holocaust survivors through a resource center and the funding of subgrants to local service providers. Previously, Shelley served as Senior Legislative Associate of JFNA and Washington Director of the Association of Jewish Family & Children’s Agencies where she conveyed aging services policy priorities to Congress and the White House and trained local communities to advocate for the populations they serve. Before coming to JFNA, Shelley was a foreign policy advisor on Capitol Hill. Shelley earned an MBA from Georgetown University and a BA from the University of Florida. Shelley enjoys Israeli dancing and volunteering to help high school students launch social innovation projects.
