Dr. Aaron Shafer moved to the Hartford area in 2009 to join the division of gynecologic oncology at Hartford Hospital. He has particular interests in minimally invasive gynecologic oncology and resident teaching.
Dr. Shafer earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biology and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He then attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where he received his medical degree cum laude. Dr. Shafer moved to Providence, Rhode Island where he completed an OB/GYN residency at Women and Infants Hospital/Brown University. He then moved south to the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill to complete a fellowship in gynecologic oncology.
